Who We Are
Singers of all ages - men and women - who share a desire to get together to sing great a’cappella (unaccompanied) harmonies and create satisfying and enjoyable music. Some of us have had years of choral experience, some of us are enthusiastic, absolute beginners.
Simply Irresistible, on a Monday evening, is for adult singers with some harmony singing experience.
Making Waves, on Tuesday evening, is open to anyone who wishes to sing. No experience needed. Interested children are welcome.

Our Objectives:
- to create a safe and supportive singing environment where we treat each other in a kind and respectful manner.
- to develop our singing ability and become better musicians.
- to attain a high standard of musical performance .
- to make new friendships and share the joy of creating good music together, with each other and the community.
New members:
The choirs welcome new members any time except in the weeks leading up to major performances. While there are no auditions, you are invited to come along for two or three rehearsals to help you decide if you’d like to join our choir and if your voice is a good match for us.
Rehearsal fees for either choir can be paid weekly, or in blocks of up to 5 weeks - cash or EFT.
Weekly: $15 full / $12 concession.
5 week block - $75 full / $60 concession.
** You only pay for the nights you attend and your first night at choir is FREE!
In addition we charge a $20 annual membership fee to cover insurance and licences.

Performance:
The choirs enjoy the opportunity to perform at various events and locations during the year, including markets and retirement homes, fundraisers, festivals and community events - mostly close to home but sometimes further afield.
While being an enjoyable and rewarding part of choir life, it is not necessary to perform to be a part of our choir and the singers decide which events to support.

We strive to make our choirs "chemical-free":
To make choir a safe, free and fearless space for all, we ask that you refrain from using spray on deodorants, perfumes, aftershave, or hairspray before coming to choir and avoid using strong smelling soaps, oils or lotions. We have several choir members with chemical sensitivities. Perfumed products can impact on vocal cord function, affecting sound quality of the voice and for some can result in a nasty anaphylactic response.
Simply Irresistible
|
Simply Irresistible meets on Monday evenings between 7.00 and 9.00pm in Frankston.
Singers range in age from 40’s to 70’s, men and women. We currently have around 20 members. We have a focus on Swing but also enjoy singing Pop and World music. Our repertoire includes Distant Sun (Crowded House), Summertime, Blue Moon, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Hit the Road Jack and Bad Habits (Billy Joel). We welcome new adult members of all ages who have had some choral or musical experience, who can sing in tune and are comfortable singing harmonies. While being able to read music is an advantage, it is not essential as guidance will be given to help you learn the music and improve your music reading skills. |
